Our Fall 2019 Opera is La Bohème, which is a 4 act opera by Giacomo Puccini. All performances are in English, with orchestra, costumes, and set. This is one of the most popular operas in the world, even inspiring film and musical theater (see Rent, for example).

Why We Need Your Help: This move to our new location has incurred many expenses for the opera company and that is why we are starting this “Go-Fund-Me” in order to raise funds to help pay for the move. Unfortunately, ticket sales do not cover the cost of the opera production. And we do not have a reserve fund to pay for this move.
We estimate that the cost will be $10,000. We need to upgrade the electrical capacity of the room, to set up lighting for the stage, and pay the yearly rental fee (we did not pay rent at our old location at Stony Point).
Why this is important to you as a donor: As the only opera company in Rockland County, the HLO serves the community by bringing quality classical music (opera) to the local community and giving people the opportunity to see opera without having to travel to New York City.
