Hudson Lyric Opera proudly presents 2024 June Concert in Rockland County, New York, for Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2pm. This concert is presented live in front of an audience, with musical accompaniment. The concert will feature songs/arias from a variety of different genres. Songs from Broadway – Gershwin, The King and I, The Desert Song and New Moon. Popular Arias from opera – Marriage of Figaro by Mozart and Faust by Gounod, as well as Italian songs. We look forward to seeing you there!
The Hudson Lyric Opera (HLO) is comprised of many talented artists who live or work in the lower Hudson Valley. HLO has offered concerts, operas, and operettas since 2008.
In June 2019, Hudson Lyric Opera proudly presents two one-act operas: Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Giacomo Puccini's Suor Angelica in Rockland County, NY. All performances are in English, with costumes, a set, and a full Orchestra.
Elixir of Love (L'elisir d'amore) is a comic opera in two acts, whose music is by the Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti. Donizetti is famous for his operas in the Bel Canto style. Donizetti’s opera features comic elements of love, and a magic potion. This production will be spoken and sung in English, and fully staged with an orchestra, sets, and costumes.
